Standard Life plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Change Internal Audit Manager who will shape the assurance across risk, governance and control environments. You will lead end-to-end audits while engaging with senior stakeholders and executives across the Group Internal Audit function.

You will operate in a hybrid setting with role flexibility, support from the team, and opportunities to influence outcomes in a large financial services organisation.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification in change/project management (Prince2, PMP, MSP or equivalent).
• Experience in managing or assuring governance, risk and transformation activities is desirable.
• Background in Internal Audit, External Audit, or Risk Assurance, preferably in Financial Services.
• Good regulatory awareness and impact assessment for portfolios.

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Birmingham on a hybrid basis, with normally a minimum of 2 days a week working in the office and the rest working at home. Salary and benefits: £65,000 to £80,000 depending on experience, plus an indicative bonus range of 16% to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

The role

As a Change Internal Audit Manager,you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to Standard Life by challenging the effectiveness of the risk, governance, and control environment. You will help provide influential insight through the work you deliver. You will work across a portfolio of audits and ad-hoc projects over a variety of areas aligned to the group’s strategy and core customer purpose and execute each audit end to end to agreed timelines. You will also manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have the following personal attributes and skills:

• Excellent planning and organisation skills, balancing audit deliveries with external demands/responsibilities and managing multiple activities and priorities
• Breadth of knowledge required across the full spectrum of project and transformation risk areas and control frameworks
• Identifying risks and key root cause themes across varied/complex key business areas, and articulating an appropriate high level control opinion to senior management.
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to build credible stakeholder relationships and influence/hold debates at executive and senior management level and at senior governance and board committees.
• Demonstrable ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-moving complex and changing environment
• Great leadership skills, including strategic thought, creativity and outcome focus, and effective decision making.

What are we looking for?

• A relevant Professional Qualification, change / project credentials such as Prince2, PMP, MSP or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in managing or providing assurance over organisational project and transformation activities is desirable.
• Previous Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Assurance experience required, ideally within a Financial Services organisation.
• Good regulatory awareness, understanding the impact of regulations on your portfolio.
