Job summary

Audit & Risk Recruitment is supporting a leading European Universal Bank to recruit an Internal Audit professional for the London branch. The role focuses on timely audits, regulatory compliance, and clear reporting of findings.

Responsibilities include conducting audits across business activities, communicating results to stakeholders, and advising on workflow enhancements while attending key regional meetings as an independent observer.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ audit experience, preferably in banking.
• Knowledge of financial markets and compliance audits.
• Experience with UK regulatory environment, Third Country Branch requirements and SM&CR

Responsibilities

• Complete audit assignments as directed by Head Office Internal Audit.
• Perform business, financial, operational and compliance audits per the regional program.
• Provide effective communication of audit findings through reports and well-documented work papers.
• Contribute to advising regional units on workflow enhancements.
• Participate in local meetings as an independent observer

Audit & Risk Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a leading European Universal Bank in their search for an Internal Audit professional to be responsible for the London branch, ensuring the proper and timely performance of the Internal Audit function in accordance with the Bank.

• Discretionary bonus
• Hybrid - 3 days in the office per week

Responsibilities include:

• Completing Internal Audit assignments as directed by Head Office Internal Audit.
• Perform business, financial, operational and compliance audits in accordance with the internal audit program of all business activities of the Branch in accordance with internal and external regulations.
• Provide effective communication of audit findings by preparing a report on the results of the audit, clearly documenting all audit work in work papers and completing follow-ups on audit findings for completed internal and external audits.
• Contribute in advising/supporting the organisational units of Region EMEA on the enhancements of workflows.
• Participate in local meetings (e.g. OpRisk Committee, Management Meetings) as independent observer

Skills Required:

• 5-10 years’ audit experience (Any experience of auditing a branch of a foreign bank in London is an advantage).
• Knowledge of financial markets, operational, financial and compliance audits.
• Knowledge of UK legal and regulatory environment, particularly in relation to Third Country Branch requirements and Senior Managers and Certified Persons Regime
