We are working with a long-established and respected Building Services Consultancy based in Manchester, who are seeking to appoint an Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a multi-disciplinary M&E practice with a strong technical reputation, delivering projects across a broad range of sectors including education, healthcare, custodial, industrial, residential, and commercial developments. The firm's ethos is built around collaboration, technical excellence, and practical engineering solutions.

The Role

As a key member of the mechanical team, you will take responsibility for the design, specification, and delivery of mechanical building services systems across multiple live projects. You'll work from early-stage concept design through to detailed design, construction, and handover.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Lead or contribute to projects through RIBA Stages 1-4, working closely with clients and other design professionals.
  • Produce design calculations, specifications, and drawings, with support from the CAD and BIM teams.
  • Carry out site inspections and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Support the development of junior engineers, sharing your technical knowledge and experience.
About You

You should be an enthusiastic and capable engineer, comfortable working independently as well as part of a small, close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in a consultancy environment, ideally with exposure to multiple sectors.
  • A sound understanding of HVAC systems, public health design, and sustainable design principles.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
