A leading architectural contractor in Slough is seeking an Intermediate Level QS to join their commercial team. This role involves managing project budgets, preparing cost reports, and overseeing contracts for projects up to £1.5m across London and the South East. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience at an intermediate level and a strong problem-solving mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of JCT contracts is preferred. The role requires a self-motivated individual willing to work head office-based between 3 to 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• 3 years working experience as a quantity surveying at intermediate level.
• Working knowledge of JCT suite of contracts.
• Ability to prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.

My client is a leader in high specification architectural glazing and partitioning. The company is one of the most well-established brands in the UK covering the length and breadth of the country, delivering the highest quality supply and install service to bluChip clients. Working alongside some of the leading tier 1 main contractor and fit out contractors on both new build and refurbishment projects.

They are now seeking an Intermediate Level QS to join the commercial team covering projects typically up to £1.5m across London & the South East. This role would suit those with an inquiring and a problem solving mind. Who can act on their own initiative and are self‑motivated with a competitive drive to get tasks completed.

Main Responsibilities

• Preparation of project budgets
• Checking projects Contracts
• Administering projects Contracts
• Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances
• Preparation of tender documents for any sub contractor works and specialist suppliers
• Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour
• Manage variations as they occur
• Producing fortnight cost reports to our Clients
• Ensure an awareness of our key responsibilities under the contract
• Ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client.
• Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms
• Ensure retention monies are released when due
• Prepare and discuss the final account for projects
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with parameters set by Line Manager
• Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.
• Working knowledge of JCT suite of contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price and any NEC form of contracts
• Working within the Fit Out industry as a specialist contractor
