Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

£35,000 – £45,000 + Company Car + Fuel Card

A specialist civil engineering contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a variety of civil engineering projects across the UK. The company delivers technically challenging infrastructure works for both public and private sector clients and offers a supportive environment for commercial development.

This role is ideal for an Intermediate QS looking to build on existing experience, working closely with senior surveyors and project teams while gaining a deeper understanding of civil engineering and NEC contracts. Professional development, including support towards RICS chartership, is actively supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage aspects of commercial and contractual administration of projects, from pre-contract to final account.
  • Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and variation submissions.
  • Support cost control, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
  • Assist with subcontract procurement, tender analysis, and contract comparisons.
  • Help manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and variations.
  • Support identification and management of commercial risk.
  • Collaborate with site and project teams to ensure accurate cost capture and reporting.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or construction.
  • Exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, learning-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Interest in working towards RICS chartership.
