Job summary

The Crowd in London is seeking a Director of Interior Design and Strategy to lead and grow the interiors practice, combining design excellence with a strategic, client-focused growth mindset. You will shape the team, drive business development, and oversee high-profile workplace projects.

You will partner with senior leadership to expand client engagements, nurture relationships, and champion sustainable, design-led approaches across projects, mentoring teams and guiding the practice's next

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level experience in interiors or design practice with leadership of teams and projects.
• Proven work-winning and business development track record with an established client network.
• Strong experience in workplace and commercial interiors, capable of leading large-scale projects.
• Commercially minded with understanding of growth, profitability, fees, resourcing and delivery.
• Ability to develop client relationships and convert opportunities into new business.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to drive growth, development and commercial success.
• Lead work-winning and business development leveraging your industry network.
• Develop strategies to grow interiors portfolio for new and existing clients.
• Represent the practice in client meetings, pitches and interviews.
• Champion design excellence across workplace and commercial interiors.
• Provide senior oversight on projects balancing design, budgets, and programmes.
• Share knowledge on materials, FF&E, finishes, lighting and trends.
• Collaborate with project leaders to deliver high-quality results profitably.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and ongoing client engagement.
• Contribute to marketing, proposals, awards, thought leadership, and communications.
• Mentor and develop the team; support recruitment and growth.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the wider strategic direction.
