Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our growing team at StudioSixty3 Architects. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors, contributing to both concept design and delivery stages. As part of a multidisciplinary practice, you’ll collaborate closely with architects and clients to shape inspiring, functional interiors that reflect our holistic design approach.

Responsibilities
  • Create interior concepts and mood boards that respond to the client brief and brand identity.
  • Select colour palettes, materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, and accessories.
  • Develop layouts, sketches, 3D visualizations, and rendered presentations.
  • Optimise interior layouts to improve flow, usability, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, accessibility standards, and fire codes.
  • Coordinate furniture, fixture, and equipment (FF&E) planning with architectural layouts.
  • Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
  • Present design proposals and revisions based on client feedback.
  • Maintain clear communication throughout all phases of the project.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, elevations, and specifications for construction and fit-out.
  • Produce schedules for lighting, finishes, and furniture.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to coordinate design integration.
  • Oversee the design process from concept to installation.
  • Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, and contractors to ensure quality and timelines.
  • Conduct site visits to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure design intent is followed.
  • Assist in sourcing and ordering furniture, finishes, and décor.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Strong design flair with a well-presented portfolio of interior projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and ideally ArchiCAD.
  • Experience producing FF&E specifications and working on construction packages.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and standards related to interior fit-outs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Working Hours and Benefits

Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
