Job summary

mustard's London studio in Shoreditch is seeking a Mid Weight Interior Designer with architectural experience or an Architect with strong interiors background to join the team. The role focuses on Cat A and Cat B workplace projects, Revit delivery, and collaborative design and technical delivery across logistics, healthcare and commercial interiors.

You’ll be involved from brief to technical delivery, with around three days in the London studio, and a strong hybrid working model plus a clear

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in commercial interiors, workplace design or architecture with a strong interiors focus.
• Confident using Revit and comfortable producing clear, coordinated technical information.
• Experience in Cat A and Cat B projects would be ideal; we value understanding of interior project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Taking client briefs and turning them into concepts, layouts and design solutions.
• Developing test fits and space plans through the RIBA stages.
• Leading or supporting Cat A and Cat B workplace projects.
• Working across logistics, healthcare and commercial interior projects.
• Producing technical drawing packages, primarily in Revit, with the occasional AutoCAD project.
• Coordinating with visualisation and digital teams when projects require it.
• Attending stakeholder workshops, design team meetings and client presentations.
• Visiting sites, reviewing progress and solving challenges where drawings meet reality.
• Working closely with architects, interior designers, consultants and contractors to keep projects moving.

mustard are working with a large, multi-disciplinary architecture and interior design practice with studios across the UK and a strong reputation across workplace, healthcare, industrial and mixed-use projects.

This isn't a role designing the reception desk for a trendy co-working space and calling it a day.

This is commercial interiors with a bit more substance.

Think Cat A and Cat B workplace projects, logistics facilities, healthcare environments and technically challenging spaces where design, functionality and delivery all need to work hand in hand.

The London studio, based in Shoreditch, is looking for a Mid Weight Interior Designer with architectural experience — or an Architect with a strong interiors background — to join the team.

If you enjoy the full journey of a project, from the first client conversation through to technical delivery and seeing it built, you'll probably enjoy this one.

What will you actually be doing?

Quite a lot, which is no bad thing.

You’ll be involved from the early stages, helping to shape ideas, understand client needs and test different possibilities before developing projects into something that can actually be delivered.

Expect to get involved in:

• Taking client briefs and turning them into concepts, layouts and design solutions.
• Developing test fits and space plans through the RIBA stages.
• Leading or supporting Cat A and Cat B workplace projects.
• Working across logistics, healthcare and commercial interior projects.

You’ll be joining a team where people work collaboratively, share ideas and support one another — not one where everyone disappears behind their headphones and communicates exclusively through Teams messages.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with around 3+ years' experience in commercial interiors, workplace design or architecture with a strong interiors focus.

You’ll need to be confident using Revit and comfortable producing clear, coordinated technical information.

Experience in Cat A and Cat B projects would be ideal, but we’re equally interested in people who understand how interior projects are designed, developed and delivered.

This role cannot offer sponsorship, full right to work in the UK is required from Day 1.

You’ll probably be:

• Strong in Revit and BIM workflows.
• Comfortable working from concept through to technical delivery.
• Good with clients, consultants and the many different personalities that come with construction projects.
• Organised and able to manage your own workload.
• Curious enough to ask questions and practical enough to solve problems.
• Open to feedback and interested in developing your skills.
• Someone who takes pride in producing good-quality work rather than simply getting drawings out the door.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite would be useful, and SketchUp experience is a nice bonus rather than a necessity.

The studio

This is a large, established design practice with multiple offices across the UK and a broad portfolio of work.

That means you’ll have the backing, resources and technical expertise of a sizeable team, while still working within smaller project groups where you can have a genuine impact.

The role offers a hybrid working model, typically with around three days in the London studio, alongside a strong benefits package, regular reviews and clear opportunities for development.
