Job summary

Sellick Partnership are partnering with a forward-thinking local authority to appoint an Interim Strategic Lead - Communications, Policy & Performance on a six-month contract. This senior leadership role has a strong emphasis on communications, engagement and reputation management, with hybrid working in Oxfordshire.

You will provide strategic leadership to the communications function, acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership and elected members while driving proactive stakeholder

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading communications, engagement, media or corporate affairs.
• Track record advising senior leaders on complex comms and stakeholder issues.
• Experience in reputation management and strategic planning.
• Ability to influence across political environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the council's communications and engagement function with a clear strategic approach.
• Advise on communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and reputation management.
• Develop and deliver comms strategies supporting corporate priorities and transformation programmes.
• Provide counsel to senior leadership and elected members on high-profile matters.
• Oversee crisis communications and reputational risk management.
• Support policy, performance, insight and risk management arrangements.
• Use performance data and insight to inform decisions and continuous improvement.
