• Reviewing unallocated transactions and supporting daily banking.
• Working with Property Managers to provide financial information and resolve queries.
• Responding to resident, client and supplier queries.
• Supporting financial onboarding of new properties when required.

Based in Ealing Broadway five days a week, the Service Charge Accountant will focus on the organisation's residential portfolio. This opportunity would suit someone with residential service charge accounting experience who can confidently work with Qube.

The organisation

Our client is an established, family-owned property business. They are looking for a Service Charge Accountant who can join their team on a temporary basis and support the financial management of their residential properties.

The role and responsibilities

As Service Charge Accountant, you will take responsibility for key service charge accounting activity across the residential portfolio. Drawing on the responsibilities within the original brief, your work will include:

• Managing service charge accounts and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Preparing service charge, ground rent, insurance and rent demands.
• Preparing service charge year-end and quarter-end accounts and expenditure reports.
• Completing service charge reconciliations and supporting the audit process.
• Reviewing relevant lease terms to establish recoverable and non-recoverable costs.
• Maintaining accurate property and financial information within Qube.
• Reviewing unallocated transactions and supporting the daily banking process.
• Working with Property Managers to provide financial information and resolve service charge queries.
• Responding to relevant resident, client and supplier queries.
• Supporting the financial onboarding of new properties where required.

The skills needed

We are looking for a Service Charge Accountant who can bring relevant knowledge to the assignment from the outset.

You will need:

• Working knowledge of residential service charge accounting.
• Working knowledge of Qube.
• Knowledge of service charge reconciliations and year-end accounting.
• An understanding of lease terms and the treatment of recoverable and non-recoverable expenditure.
• The ability to maintain accurate financial records and manage competing deadlines.
• Clear communication skills when working with Property Managers and other stakeholders.

This is an initial one-month temporary assignment paying £200-£250 per day, with a likely extension. The Service Charge Accountant will be based in Ealing Broadway five days per week, so applicants should be comfortable with a fully office-based position.
