A well-established and reputable business based in Batley is recruiting for an Interim Project Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis until the New Year. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to support a business through a period of change driving improvements and helping to streamline processes. Offering a salary of up to 40000 (pro rata) this role is ideal for someone available immediately or at short notice who enjoys getting stuck into project work.

Key Responsibilities

As Project Finance Assistant you will play a hands‑on role in supporting the finance function during a period of transition. Responsibilities will include :

  • Supporting the finance team through a system improvement and process change project
  • Assisting with the clearance of finance backlogs to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Auditing current systems and processes to identify efficiencies and improve controls
  • Supporting month‑end reconciliations and reporting
  • Working closely with the wider finance and operational teams to enhance accuracy, efficiency and communication
  • Providing ad‑hoc analysis and project support to the Finance Manager and senior leadership
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail‑driven finance professional who can quickly adapt to a changing environment. You will ideally have :

  • Proven experience in a high-volume transactional finance environment
  • Exposure to or involvement in system implementations or process improvement projects
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with a focus on accuracy and deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, SAP or Oracle
  • A collaborative and hands‑on approach with the confidence to suggest and drive improvements
Availability

Availability to start immediately or on short notice.

This role would suit an experienced Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Finance Analyst who enjoys project‑based work and supporting operational change.
