Management Accountant – Interim contract with potential of permanent. £40,000–£50,000 DOE. Nottingham-based hybrid.

Our client are looking for a Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team — this is an exciting time of transformation and growth and the ideal candidate will shape the role, drive performance, and influence strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, bring clarity to financial performance, and help us build a smarter, more efficient finance function.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for key projects, with insightful analysis and performance commentary.
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial data to support forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making.
  • Partner with Project Managers to provide financial guidance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead on cash flow forecasting, credit control routines, and balance sheet reconciliations (WIP, accruals, deferred income).
  • Drive process improvements and enhance the quality of financial reporting.
  • Support audit prep, group reporting, and ad hoc projects for senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with large datasets.
  • Experience in management accounting, project accounting, financial analysis, and working capital optimisation.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail.
