Job summary

Cast UK Limited is seeking an Interim - Operations Transformation Director in South East London. You will drive transformation across manufacturing, installation and service functions, on a hybrid on-site basis, with a focus on preparing scalable processes and systems for the next expansion phase.

The role is outside IR35 and for an initial 6-month term, with a highly competitive day rate. You will work hands-on on the shop floor, fix bottlenecks, and hand over a permanently appointed successor,

Qualifications

• Hands-on SME leadership transforming manufacturing and field ops in mid-market contexts.
• Experience restructuring processes for new software rollouts.
• Customer-facing stakeholder management across public and private sectors.

Responsibilities

• Drive transformation by streamlining manufacturing and installation operations to scale.
• Recover margin by identifying waste and implementing rapid fixes.
• Clear bottlenecks by building lean, repeatable processes where gaps exist.
• Prepare systems by cleaning up workflows ahead of software implementations.
• Build and empower teams, upskilling staff for long-term capability.
• Deliver handover with a seamless transition to the permanent leader.

Role Profile

We welcome interest from hands-on operations practitioners to transform the manufacturing , installation and service functions ahead of the next phase of expansion for this exciting UK success story. Our client has outgrown their current structure -margins are stretching, bottlenecks are surfacing, and systems need modernizing. Supporting customers across public and private sectors, throughout the UK, with focus from the London HQ, this exciting opportunity will be highly autonomous and well supported by an engaged and motivated leadership and operational team.

You will be on the shop floor and out on site fixing processes, preparing systems, building team capabilities, and setting up a seamless handover for a permanent successor.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Transformation: Streamline manufacturing and installation operations to support scaling.


• Recover Margin: Pinpoint operational waste and execute rapid process fixes.


• Clear Bottlenecks: Build lean, repeatable processes where structure is currently lacking.


• Systems Preparation: Clean up and optimize workflows ahead of new software implementations.


• Build & Empower: Assess team structures, upskill staff, and establish long-term capability.


• Deliver Handover: Ensure a seamless transition to the incoming permanent leader.

Skills & Experience

• Hands-on SME Leadership: Proven track record transforming both manufacturing and field operations within a £10m-£20m business. Public /Private sector customer relationships an advantage.


• Systems Implementation: Experience restructuring processes for new software rollouts.


• People-First Approach: Inspiring leader who delegates well, builds morale, and puts purpose before process.


• Location: Hybrid on-site presence in South London with regular factory and site visits.

Remuneration
