Job summary

1st Executive Ltd in London is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join a high-performing front-office technology team. You'll build scalable software across UI, backend services and data-driven capabilities, with opportunities to contribute AI-enabled features. The role is hybrid in London, for 6 months with strong extension potential.

You'll collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions and drive innovation in Fixed Income & Currencies markets.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience in agile environments.
• Excellent knowledge of Java Development.
• Experience within Financial Services environments.
• A solid foundation in object-oriented and/or functional programming.
• Experience with engineering best practices including TDD and CI.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability for production systems.
• Understanding of front-office technology and Fixed Income & Currencies advantageous.

We're looking for a Java Software Engineer to join a high-performing front-office technology team, building the next generation of sales platforms for global financial markets.

You'll develop modern, scalable applications used directly by revenue-generating teams, working across UI, backend services and data-driven capabilities.

This is an opportunity to solve complex, engineering problems in a fast-paced environment, while gaining deep exposure to Fixed Income & Currencies (FIC) markets. As the platform evolves, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to AI-enabled features where they add real business value.

The Role:

• An understanding of front-office technology, capital markets or Fixed Income & Currencies (FX, Rates, Credit or Emerging Markets) is advantageous
