Role: Interim HSE Manager – INSIDE IR35

Client: Manufacturing Company – fast paced

Day Rate: INSIDE IR35 – 450 per day

Contract Length – Immediate start until March 2026

Location: Glasgow

Looking to hire two proven HSE professionals with a strong background in high risk and fast paced manufacturing, ideally with brewery, distillery or beverage manufacturing experience.

This is a site based role, Monday – Friday, based in Glasgow.

Overview
  • Support frontline teams through visible, hands–on coaching to embed safe working practices and build confidence in managing day–to–day risks.
  • Facilitate the engagement and empowerment of operational teams, encouraging ownership of safety and enabling locally driven improvements.
  • Build trust and influence behaviours by developing strong relationships with employees and line managers, helping to shape a positive safety culture.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents, focusing on learning and root cause analysis to drive meaningful, preventative action.
  • Provide operational teams with insight through the use of safety data and trends, enabling informed, risk–based decision–making.
  • Apply health and safety policies, standards, and procedures in a way that aligns with the realities of operations, ensuring they add value while maintaining compliance.
  • Support the effective management of contractors, helping site teams ensure safe planning, coordination, and control of work, and applying learnings from past experience.
  • Promote a learning culture by sharing relevant lessons from across the wider business and encouraging the adoption of best practices.
  • Champion a mindset that looks beyond compliance, supporting continuous improvement and striving for industry–leading safety standards.
  • Support the development, testing, and ongoing improvement of emergency response plans to ensure teams are prepared to respond effectively to site–specific scenarios.
  • Contribute to wider business safety improvement initiatives by supporting the implementation of company–wide projects, tools, and campaigns that enhance safety performance across all sites.
Essential Criteria
  • NEBOSH certificate
  • High risk and fast paced background, ideally manufacturing
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and an understanding of how to apply it in a fast–paced, operational setting.
  • Confident in supporting the implementation of safety systems, policies, and procedures at a site or team level.
  • Experience in assisting with incident investigations and risk assessments, with a focus on learning and practical improvement.
  • Organised and able to manage routine responsibilities across multiple teams or work areas.
  • An interest in learning about human factors and modern safety thinking
