Job description

Middlemore has been retained to recruit an experienced interim HR/ER professional to lead a collective consultation and redundancy transition as part of an international colocation project, starting in December 2025. This project could impact approximately 60 FTEs and require the management of around 180 consultation meetings (collective and individual) through the 12 month transition period.

Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end project management and delivery of complex collective and individual consultation processes
  • Develop and articulate the full business justification, including rationale and headcount impact
  • Oversee and execute colleague communications, FAQ creation, and consultation documentation
  • Lead the election of employee representatives and ensure independent training is provided
  • Support and advise the chair during weekly collective meetings with representatives to ensure legal compliance
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of UK employment law and advise the business throughout
  • Prepare for all consultation requirements: agenda, impact and exit planning, redundancy calculations, outplacement, and correspondence (at-risk, termination, etc.)
  • Directly run individual and collective meetings (expectation: 60 FTEs impacted, 180 meetings through 2026)
  • Collaborate with shared services for data, redundancy and benefits calculations, and reporting
Ideal Candidate

In order to be eligible for this role you must meet the following experience criteria;

  • Significant, recent project management experience, ideally in HR transformation or workplace change (redundancy/TUPE/relocation)
  • Expert knowledge and hands‑on experience in UK employment law and collective consultation
  • Proven record delivering similar large‑scale consultation and redundancy projects (contractor/interim background welcome)
  • Senior‑level experience engaging with business leaders and employee groups; able to manage all aspects from strategy to admin
  • Comfortable leading, planning, and executing all statutory and compliance processes
  • Highly pragmatic and execution‑focused – must be willing to handle documentation and day‑to‑day work, not just provide high‑level advice
  • Flexible (anticipated 2–3 days/week, with some travel to London; hybrid/remote working possible)
  • Able to manage multiple projects if confidentiality and obligations are met; over‑qualified candidates are welcome if they are hands‑on
Timeline & Terms
  • Contract targeted for start in December to enable early planning (FAQs, justification, letters)
  • 12‑month fixed term contract duration
  • The role offers a full‑time equivalent salary of £85,000, which will be pro‑rated to reflect the 3 x days per week
