Venn Group is recruiting an interim Housing Litigation Paralegal for a London-based Local Authority. The role is hybrid, initially 3 months+ with a rate of up to £35.25 per hour Umbrella.

You will manage a varied housing and general litigation caseload and provide drafting, research and case-management support to the legal team. The ideal candidate will have previous paralegal or equivalent experience in litigation, with housing or local authority matters and the ability to work autonomously in

• Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Officer or equivalent within Litigation.
• Experience handling housing or other contentious Local Authority matters.
• Strong drafting, research and case management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of housing and general litigation matters.
• Providing legal advice, support and guidance across contentious matters.
• Progressing cases with a high degree of autonomy and taking initiative where appropriate.
• Drafting legal correspondence, court documentation and other case papers.
• Reviewing evidence and assisting with case preparation.
• Supporting lawyers and advocates with more complex litigation matters.
• Liaising with officers, clients, courts and external stakeholders.
• Managing competing deadlines within a busy litigation environment.
• Undertaking legal research and providing practical advice on procedural issues.
• Supporting the wider litigation team as required.

Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Housing Litigation Paralegal to join a Local Authority on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal to undertake a varied caseload within a busy public sector legal team, dealing with both routine and more complex contentious matters.

Role Details:

Position: Interim Housing Litigation Paralegal
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working
Duration: Initial 3 months+, with potential for extension
Rate: Up to £35.25 per hour Umbrella

Duties may include:

• Managing a varied caseload of housing and general litigation matters
• Providing legal advice, support and guidance across contentious matters

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Officer or equivalent within Litigation
• Experience handling housing or other contentious Local Authority matters
• Strong drafting, research and case management skills
• Ability to manage a varied caseload with limited supervision
• Good understanding of litigation procedure and court processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Previous Local Government or wider Public Sector experience would be highly advantageous
