Job summary

London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Internal Audit, Anti-Fraud & Risk to lead the council's internal audit, anti-fraud and risk management functions. Qualifications

• Significant leadership in internal audit within local government.
• CMIIA, CCAB or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of PSIAS and GIAS standards.
• Experience leading counter-fraud and complex investigations.
• Skilled in high-level governance and risk management.
• Available for immediate or short-notice start.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership of internal audit, anti-fraud and risk services across the council.
• Develop audit strategy, annual plan and opinion.
• Oversee contracts and outsourced audit partners.
• Lead counter-fraud and corruption strategy and investigations.
• Advise on governance and value for money across services.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors and the Audit Committee.
