Overview

A leading organisation in the services sector is seeking an Interim Head of Finance Transformation and Shared Services for a 12-18 month contract, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone who is part-qualified and eager to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will play a pivotal part in providing insightful financial analysis and reporting, directly supporting operational leaders and influencing performance across key contracts.

Responsibilities

As Interim Head of Finance Transformation and Shared Services, you will play a crucial role in guiding central finance operations through an exciting period of change. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading a large team responsible for core transactional functions while simultaneously driving forward strategic projects such as ERP implementation and operating model redesign. Success in this role requires balancing operational oversight with visionary thinking-ensuring business-as-usual excellence even as you champion transformative initiatives.

  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of an ERP platform, ensuring that critical processes such as Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Record-to-Report (R2R) are mapped, tested, and embedded successfully within the organisation.
  • Design and implement a new Finance Operating Model that clearly defines structure, accountabilities, service levels, and governance standards across shared services.
  • Drive standardisation, automation, and simplification initiatives throughout the Shared Service Centre to enhance accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness in financial operations.
  • Collaborate extensively with senior commercial leaders including the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Commercial Officer to break down functional silos and enable seamless shared service processes for all marketplace participants.
  • Engage stakeholders across Finance, IT, and Operations departments to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes through effective change management strategies.
  • Establish robust performance management frameworks by setting KPIs, SLAs, and dashboards that monitor quality, compliance, and operational outcomes.
  • Provide inspirational people leadership by building capability within the Shared Service Centre team while fostering resilience, high performance, and continuous improvement culture.
  • Maintain rigorous financial control throughout the transformation process to ensure compliance with both internal policies and external audit standards.
  • Focus on optimising working capital by ensuring effective control over cash collection, payments processing, reconciliations, and overall financial health.
  • Champion a collaborative approach to problem-solving that encourages knowledge sharing across teams while supporting professional development opportunities.
Qualifications

Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:

  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA or CPA (or equivalent) is essential for credibility in this senior leadership role.
  • Extensive post-qualified experience in senior finance positions within shared service or transformation environments is required to navigate complex organisational change.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful ERP implementations or major finance system transitions demonstrates your ability to manage large-scale projects effectively.
  • Experience designing and embedding Finance Operating Models that integrate people, process, and technology ensures you can drive holistic improvements.
  • Deep understanding of O2C (Order-to-Cash), P2P (Procure-to-Pay), R2R (Record-to-Report) processes along with associated performance metrics is vital for operational excellence.
