Job description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a Glasgow based organisation to appoint an Interim Financial Reporting Manager for 12-15 months. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the postholder will be responsible for:

  • Preparing annual financial statements for the organisation and its subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Leading the consolidation process and manage pension accounting adjustments and disclosures
  • Liaising with external auditors and manage audit schedules to meet statutory requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with changes in Financial Reporting Standards and accounting policies
  • Preparing US GAAP financial statements
  • Managing month-end financial accounting processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and commentary
  • Overseeing Fixed Asset module, including capitalisation, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Supporting strategic project work to improve ledger accuracy and financial reporting efficiency
  • Leading and managing a small team, promoting continuous improvement and professional standards
  • Acting as the Group’s technical accounting expert, providing training and support across departments
  • Maintaining strong internal controls and continuously improve financial processes
  • Providing high-quality analysis and issue resolution to support decision-making
  • Liaising with key stakeholders and teams to ensure accurate asset and capital reporting
  • Ensuring timely submission of financial statements to external stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Professionally Qualified Chartered Accountant (essential)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Prior experience within a large, complex organisation
  • Available at short notice
