The Interim Financial Controller will provide critical support through the year-end process. This role will oversee the production of financial statements, trial balance preparation, and group consolidations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.

Our client is a very reputable organisation based in West London, which is PE backed and growing rapidly through acquisition.

Description

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Lead the year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in line with statutory requirements.
  • Manage the trial balance and group consolidations, ensuring integrity of financial data.
  • Provide hands‑on technical expertise, diving into detail where required.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 3 finance staff, fostering strong performance and collaboration.
  • Liaise with auditors and stakeholders to ensure smooth year‑end delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Handle ad‑hoc financial projects and reporting as required.
Profile

A successful Interim Financial Controller should have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Proven experience in year‑end reporting and consolidations.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, with the ability to manipulate and analyse complex data.
  • Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and able to operate effectively in a dynamic PE‑backed environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing small finance teams.
