Overview

An interesting and highly successful business in Harrogate seeks an experienced Financial Controller for an initial 3-6 month assignment whilst they hire a permanent person.

Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation of year-end accounts and manage the audit process across multiple entities.

  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory obligations.

  • Review and distribute monthly management accounts within agreed timelines.

  • Oversee quarterly VAT returns and ensure accurate, timely submission.

  • Manage and support a small finance team, fostering collaboration and development.

  • Maintain and update cashflow forecasts, identifying cost-saving initiatives.

  • Enhance financial processes, reporting efficiency, and systems

  • Act as a key point of contact for auditors, tax consultants, and banking partners.

  • Provide clear, insightful financial reporting to the Group Managing Director and senior leadership.

Qualifications

To be considered you will likely be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with a proven track record in a similar role. The ability to mentor a small team and experience of the Xero system would be advantageous.
