Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an Interim Finance Accounting Lead for a public sector client in Sheffield. The role is hybrid and offers a contract expectation of around six months or more.

You will support the Accountancy Manager in delivering strategic objectives, prepare draft statutory accounts and treasury information, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist with audits, returns and capital programme controls.

Qualifications

• Public Sector experience desirable.
• Capital experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support effective financial management, control and reporting
• Support annual accounts, year-end processes and external returns
• Maintain financial controls, policies, procedures and the Chart of Accounts
• Support capital programme planning and expenditure monitoring
• Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Register
• Support internal and external audits and deputise when required
• Promote risk management, data protection, equality, health and safety, and continuous improvement
• Comply with organisational standards, complete required training and undertake other appropriate duties

Role overview:

• Support the Accountancy Manager in delivering the organisation's strategic objectives.
• Prepare draft statutory accounts, fixed asset accounts, and treasury management information
• Ensure compliance with accounting, treasury management and financial regulations
• Support audits, grants, voluntary funds and statutory returns
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standing orders
