A local authority in Essex is seeking an experienced Interim Disposals Surveyor to manage the disposal of property assets. Job description

I am currently working with a Local Authority in Essex that is seeking an experienced Interim Disposals Surveyor to join their team.

Key Details :
  • Day Rate : £550 per day (inside IR35)
  • Location : Essex
  • Working Pattern : 2 days per week in the office, remainder remote
  • Contract : 3-month rolling contract (with potential to extend until 2027)
Role Responsibilities :

The role will involve carrying out comprehensive due diligence on the council's property assets to identify and progress disposal opportunities as part of the Improvement and Recovery Plan following the Section 114 Notice. You will work closely with internal and external legal teams, as well as property agents appointed through the council's procurement process, to manage the disposal process from instruction through to completion.

You will be responsible for ensuring that transactions are delivered efficiently, achieve best value, and support the council's financial recovery. Several of the assets will be community assets, so prior experience in their disposal would be highly desirable.
