Interim Digital Product and Platform Director – Wealthtech – Challenger Bank

The Opportunity

A high-growth challenger bank is launching a new, digitally led wealth platform and is seeking a senior Digital Product and Platform Director to lead the build. This is a rare opportunity to create a modern wealthtech proposition from the ground up within a regulated banking environment, with full executive sponsorship and commercial accountability.

The platform will blend digital-first delivery with differentiated advice models, enabling the bank to scale into new customer segments while materially improving the customer experience and reducing cost-to-serve.

This role suits a digital product athlete who thrives in build environments and has deep, hands-on experience within wealthtech.

The Role

You will own the end-to-end design, build, and launch of a wealth platform. Operating as a start-up within the bank, you will define the product vision, shape the operating model, and drive delivery through cross-functional squads.

You will be accountable for translating customer needs into scalable, compliant digital products and for delivering tangible commercial outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the end-to-end build of a new digital wealth platform within a challenger bank
• Own product strategy, platform roadmap, and commercial outcomes, including P&L accountability
• Define and evolve the digital advice and self-directed investment models
• Drive measurable growth, adoption, and cost-to-serve improvements
• Build and lead cross-functional product, engineering, marketing, and operations squads
• Deliver at pace using agile, sprint-based methodologies
• Influence senior banking stakeholders and navigate regulatory complexity

About You

• Proven senior digital product leader with significant wealth management experience
• Track record of building and scaling products within wealthtechs, digital investment platforms, or robo-advice businesses
• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrable P&L ownership and growth delivery
• Hands-on product operator comfortable across product, technology, data, distribution, and operations
• Experience working in regulated environments and partnering with risk, compliance, and legal teams
• Bold, credible, and able to challenge constructively while bringing stakeholders with you
