Zusammenfassung

Holmes House is seeking an experienced Cook to join our residential care team in Wigston. You will prepare meals and beverages, ensure dietary requirements are met, and participate in menu planning to support residents’ wellbeing.

The role offers regular shifts across a 7-day week with benefits including a fully funded DBS, holiday pay, and a generous refer-a-friend scheme. Training can be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifikationen

• Caring for residents is essential and a genuine desire to help others.
• Experience as a cook is preferred in a care setting.
• Willingness to train and develop kitchen skills where needed.

Aufgaben

• Prepare meals, snacks and drinks meeting residents' dietary needs.
• Conduct quality checks on food and storage.
• Plan menus aligned with residents' preferences.
• Assist with serving to ensure a dignified dining experience.
• Keep stock records and order supplies per policy.
• Maintain hygienic, tidy kitchen and assist with deep cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities of our Cook include:

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents’ dietary requirements
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and food being stored
• Planning menus in line with the preferences and requirements of our residents
• Assisting with food service to allow our residents a dignified dining experience
• Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What we’re looking for in our Cook:

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
