Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd is working with a Gainsborough-based civils/groundworks company to recruit an experienced interim Civils Site Manager (sub-contractor) for a 2-3 month fixed-term contract on a day rate basis.

You must be self-employed (CIS or other) to apply. The role entails managing civil/groundworks projects, overseeing subcontractors, controlling costs, and ensuring OTIF delivery to the main contractor.

Qualifications

• Civils & Groundworks Site Management experience required.
• Residential & Commercial Civils experience desirable.
• Experience in roadworks, sewers, over-sites essential.
• Willingness to travel Lincolnshire & East Midlands.
• Must hold a full clean driving licence.
• On-site civils experience beneficial for this role.
• Team management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and weekly site activities.
• Monitor progress against the programme.
• Identify delays and implement mitigation measures.
• Coordinate works with clients, utilities and subcontractors.
• Attend and contribute to site progress meetings.
• Maintain accurate site records (diaries, sheets, plant returns, logs).
• Monitor costs (labour, plant, materials) and support the commercial team.
