Job summary

Consult is seeking an experienced CFO/Finance Director for an interim or potential interim-to-permanent role in the London area. The position entails partnering with the CEO, management team and private equity investor to drive financial and strategic priorities in a lean, hands-on environment.

You will own budgeting, forecasting, cash management, reporting and controls, while delivering high-quality MI and commercial insight to support decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience in B2B SaaS / software businesses.
• Experience in private equity-backed environments.
• M&A and post-acquisition integration experience.
• Hands-on finance professional in a small finance team.
• Strong commercial, analytical and operational finance capability.
• Ability to engage with CEO, management, board and PE investor.
• Ability to balance strategic issues with detailed execution.
• Availability to spend approximately three days on-site.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the CEO, leadership team and PE investor on financial and strategic priorities.

• Support the continued development of SaaS KPIs, reporting and financial planning.

• Ensure the finance function remains hands-on and aligned with long-term objectives.

We are supporting a private equity-backed B2B SaaS business with the appointment of an experienced CFO on an interim or potentially interim-to-permanent basis.

The business is at an important stage of its development and requires a commercially minded, highly hands-on CFO who can operate effectively in a relatively lean environment while partnering closely with the CEO, management team and private equity investor.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Partnering closely with the CEO, leadership team and PE investor on financial and strategic priorities
• Owning budgeting, forecasting, cash management, reporting and financial controls
• Providing high-quality management information and commercial insight to support decision-making
• Supporting the continued development of SaaS KPIs, reporting and financial planning
• Working closely with the investor on value creation initiatives and board reporting
• Supporting M&A activity where appropriate, including evaluation, execution, integration and post-deal performance
• Improving finance processes, systems and reporting as the business develops
• Ensuring the finance function remains appropriately hands-on and operational while also supporting the company's longer-term strategic objectives

We are looking for an experienced CFO / Finance Director with:

• Strong experience within B2B SaaS / software businesses
• Previous experience operating in a private equity-backed environment
• Demonstrable M&A and, importantly, post-acquisition integration experience
• A genuinely hands-on approach and willingness to operate within a small finance team
• Strong commercial, analytical and operational finance capability
• The credibility to work effectively with a CEO, management team, board and PE investor
• The ability to move comfortably between strategic issues and detailed execution
• Availability to spend approximately three days per week on-site
