Legal Counsel – Banking & Finance (London)

Interim - Day Rate

One year Contract

An international financial institution is seeking a junior to mid-level Legal Counsel to support its London-based Banking teams. This role focuses on providing legal advice across a broad range of lending and finance transactions, including investment-grade lending, real estate finance, project and infrastructure finance, trade finance, and related risk‑mitigation activities. You will also contribute to wider legal support across commercial contracts, property matters, regulatory interpretation, and policy review.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on and support the execution of banking and finance transactions, identifying legal and regulatory risks, proposing solutions, negotiating terms, and coordinating documentation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Draft and negotiate term sheets (LMA among others), facility agreements, trade finance documents, and secondary trading documentation, while maintaining and updating internal templates.
• Provide legal input into new product approval processes.
• Review a variety of commercial and property-related contracts.
• Conduct legal research, prepare internal guidance, and help arrange training on legal and regulatory developments.
