Overview

Interim Assistant Headteacher – Attendance and Inclusion – Secondary School – Birmingham. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join a well-resourced, mid-sized secondary school in Birmingham on an interim basis. This role focuses on attendance, inclusion, and pastoral support, ensuring that every student has access to a positive and engaging education.

The successful Assistant Headteacher will play a vital role in driving attendance improvements, leading inclusion initiatives, and supporting the wider pastoral strategy across the school.

Job Role
  • Leading on attendance and inclusion across the school.
  • Implementing strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
  • Overseeing pastoral support and ensuring safeguarding best practice.
  • Working closely with the Headteacher, SLT, and pastoral teams to promote a culture of inclusion and engagement.
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to support student welfare.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key attendance and inclusion data to inform school improvement.
