Job summary

Network Rail in the UK is seeking an Intelligent Infrastructure Technician to turn data into action, monitoring asset health and predicting failures. You will be the eyes and ears of the railway using advanced sensing systems to prevent disruption and support maintenance teams with real-time information.

You will analyse alerts, interpret trends, and provide advisory support to ensure timely responses and smarter decisions across the network.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of asset monitoring techniques and systems.
  • Experience in inspection, faulting, or maintenance (rail or similar industry).
  • Understanding of relevant standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse asset health using Intelligent Infrastructure systems.
  • Notify changes in asset status and provide advisory information to maintenance teams.
  • Ensure alerts and alarms are accurate and meaningful to prioritise responses.
  • Provide diagnostic history and fault status to minimise downtime.
  • Deliver asset health reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Calibrate systems with maintenance teams for optimal performance.

Salary: IMC10 Starting from £52291 up to ££59711 dependent on competencies or Standard Maintenance Contract £56777
