Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police seeks an Intelligence Support Officer, baseable at Exeter or Plymouth, part-time (30 hours). The role supports Intelligence Management Unit activities and assists Assessors and Intelligence Officers to meet department priorities.

Successful candidates will undergo NSV/SC(e) checks, with DV possible. IPP training is required within 12 months. Global travel is limited; a 5-year UK history is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires a 5 year checkable history in the UK.
  • Must be British by nationality and eligible for security clearance.
  • Experience with vetting processes and handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to provide administrative and records management support as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage admin for allocated regional nominals and support the Intelligence Supervisor.
  • Create operations plans and document the operational setup agenda.
  • Carry out vetting checks and NCIA checks on adverse hits and firearms licensing requests.
  • Administer and manage the Protections of Freedoms Act referrals.
  • Conduct records management reviews in line with procedures.
  • Disseminate intelligence products to local forces via Niche in a timely manner.
  • Create briefing slides and material for Force Intelligence systems.
  • Assess ANPR inquiries and prepare recommendations.
  • Research and develop low-level subject profiles as required.
  • Facilitate access/egress for visitors to secure department estates.
