Job description

South Derbyshire District Council is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Integrity and Compliance Officer to join our Benefits Team.

As an Integrity and Compliance Officer you will have an excellent knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction legislation, with a good working knowledge of MRI Revenues and Benefits processing software.

Main duties will include performing quality assurance checks on benefit assessment awards and targeted checks in respect of matters relating to Housing Benefit subsidy audit.

Other duties will include making consistent and transparent decisions on Discretionary Housing Payment applications, resolving subsidy and integrity software errors, ensuring DWP security and compliance, and completing government returns and monitoring.

You would also provide support and resilience to the Benefit Assessment Team when required.

As well as having an excellent knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, you will have strong analytical and IT skills, the ability to manage complex information accurately, and excellent written and verbal skills as you will be required to interact with our customers and other agencies by phone, letter, and email.

The post is advertised as 37 hours, but reduced hours will be considered to a minimum of 25 hours per week.
