Overview
WSSE bring together real products, models, synthetic environments and people throughout the systems life cycle, using agile methodologies to develop real‑time software components to simulate weapon systems and sub‑systems. Sitting within WSSE, the ISV Team provides proving best practice and capability to WSSE products right throughout the development cycle, in order to ensure the products are fit‑for‑purpose and the delivery. This includes regular work in the brand new Digital Battlespace Facility, and is often fast‑paced covering multiple rapid mini‑projects, as well as support longer‑term products for main projects. Reporting to the ISV Team Lead, you will be responsible for the following on one or more WSSE products:
Test / Proving Planning
- Understanding customer needs/requirements from a proving perspective
- Understanding design/architecture including input to test bed needs
- Test planning, design and specification
Test / Proving Conduct
- Regular progressive assurance testing during software development
- Supporting technical investigations into defects and emergent behaviours
- Supporting external software integration with other engineering partners and customers
- Data analysis of logs
- Conducting formal qualification
Test / Proving Reporting
- Regular reporting to project lead and stakeholders on software functionality
- Writing test/analysis reports for certification
- Support to software delivery/release process including certification

Qualifications – Systems Knowledge
- Understanding of different levels of the system and stakeholder perspectives
- Proficiency with GitLab, Jenkins, Python scripting, IBM ALM ETM/Doors, PLM, JIRA, Excel, Macros
- Self‑management – dynamic, proactive, able to manage own workflow and improve working methods
- Systems proving – knowledge of testing and certifying complex systems across the development lifecycle, experience in functional and/or software test, V&V knowledge
- Project delivery – monitoring milestones, identifying risks and producing contingency plans

Salary & Scope
Salary: Circa £42,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3‑4 days per week on site due to workload class
Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship (BPSS checks required). All successful candidates undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
Additional Information
