Job summary

Harvey Nash Group is seeking an Integration Architect for an 11-month contract in a hybrid Edinburgh setting, starting ASAP. You will lead the design and governance of enterprise integrations, particularly using Boomi and AWS, delivering secure, scalable API-led and event-driven connectivity.

You will shape integration standards, interfaces and lifecycle, work with senior stakeholders and delivery teams, and ensure non-functional requirements meet public sector standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Integration Architect within a large, complex organisation.
• Experience designing, governing and supporting enterprise integration solutions using Boomi and API management.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise app landscapes including SaaS, COTS and bespoke apps.
• Experience defining integration standards, reference architectures and technical roadmaps.
• Experience leading architectural governance and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and assurance of system-to-system integrations across the estate.
• Define, document and maintain integration architecture standards and reference models.
• Design and assure integrations deployed within AWS and Boomi with robust API management and messaging.
• Define and govern API connectivity models for internal/external and 3rd-party integrations.
• Ensure non-functional requirements: security, performance, resilience, cost efficiency (public sector standards).
• Provide architectural assurance and challenge through governance boards.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects, platform teams and external suppliers to deliver architectures.
• Support delivery teams with hands-on architectural guidance during build and implementation.

Integration Architect | 11 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid, Edinburgh| Starting ASAP

Day Rate: £679

About the Role:

• Lead the design and assurance of system-to system integrations, ensuring consistent, reusable and secure connectivity across the technology estate.
• Define, document and maintain integration architecture standards, patterns and reference models, with a particular focus on API-led and event-driven integration.
• Design and assure integrations deployed within AWS and Boomi, ensuring effective use of cloud-native services and delivering robust API management, messaging, orchestration and security requirements for resilience.
• Define and govern API connectivity models, including internal and external, 3rd-party integrations whilst ensuring appropriate versioning, documentation and lifecycle management.
• Ensure integrations meet non-functional requirements, including security, performance, resilience, scalability and cost efficiency in line with public sector standards.
• Provide architectural assurance and challenge for integration designs presented through formal governance and review processes.
• Work collaboratively with Technical Architects, delivery teams, platform teams, security specialists and external suppliers to deliver agreed integration architectures.
• Support delivery teams during build and implementation phases by providing hands-on architectural guidance and resolving complex integration issues.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience operating as an Integration Architect or equivalent specialist architecture role within a large and complex organisation.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, governing and supporting enterprise integration solutions using Boomi, including API Management, Integration, Master Data Management and Event Streams capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of application architecture and enterprise application landscapes, including SaaS, COTS and bespoke applications.
• Demonstrable experience defining integration standards, reference architectures, design principles and technical roadmaps.
• Experience leading architectural governance activities and providing technical assurance through Architecture Review Boards or equivalent governance forums.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, suppliers, delivery teams and executive audiences, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Experience working within Agile and multidisciplinary delivery environments.
• Experience working in large public sector organisations with an understanding of government digital service standards and governance processes.
• Expert knowledge of AWS Cloud architecture, with practical experience of integration and API services including:
