A leading healthcare organization in Glasgow is seeking a Support Service Assistant to deliver a quality domestic and catering service. Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The shift pattern for this post is 15.45 – 20.00 Monday to Friday

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Responsibilities

• The predominant purpose of the Support Service Assistant role is to provide a quality domestic and catering service, ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained for patients, staff and visitors. Within Health Centres this is a core cleaning service only.
• Follow agreed cleaning work schedules, methods and procedures in accordance with NHS Scotland National Cleaning Specification and Healthcare Acquired infection (HAI) Task Force Code of Practice.
• Rotate around clinical areas and all departments; present an efficient, high quality service to patients and staff; follow a defined daily schedule; maintain a flexible approach to daily routine.
• Use economic and safe cleaning practices and follow manufacturers instructions for cleaning agents.
• Use mechanical cleaning equipment; inform the Supervisor of requirements for work materials and check delivery of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Wear protective clothing as supplied by the Department and complete all daily/weekly sign off sheets for areas of work.
• All necessary training will be offered to ensure the working environment is safe and you are confident within your role.
