Job summary

The Whitworth, part of The University of Manchester, is recruiting a Designer to develop high-quality visual design for exhibitions, programmes and communications across print and digital platforms. You will support marketing campaigns and audience engagement by producing assets that reflect The Whitworth and University brand guidelines.

You will work with curatorial and engagement teams to translate briefs into compelling visuals, ensuring brand consistency and accessibility while contributing

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong design skills across print and digital formats.
• Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong typography, layout and visual communication skills.
• Ability to interpret briefs and translate them into visual solutions.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in visual communications.

Responsibilities

• Produce creative design solutions for exhibition campaigns, digital content, social media, print collateral and promotional materials.
• Prepare artwork for print and digital production, ensuring files meet technical specifications and brand standards.
• Design visual assets that support storytelling and audience engagement across multiple platforms.
• Support delivery of exhibition and programme campaigns with web, email, social media and print assets.
• Collaborate with curatorial, programming and engagement teams to interpret briefs and deliver effective design solutions.
