Insurance Surveyor / Contracts Manager
- Location: Wickford, Essex
- Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Surveyor / Contracts Manager to oversee small to medium-sized domestic insurance claims from inception to completion. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in insurance surveying and contract management who is confident managing subcontractors, project timelines, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Surveying domestic insurance claims and producing detailed scopes of works using client-specific schedules of rates
- Managing the works diary and ensuring subcontractor continuity with forward planning at least two weeks ahead
- Meeting client SLA deadlines for surveys and scope submissions
- Managing the full claim lifecycle from survey to completion, including issuing work orders and creating works programmes
- Conducting site audits to ensure quality standards and H&S compliance
- Handling variations, technical queries, and policyholder communications
- Closing off claims and ensuring all final documentation, invoices, and photographic evidence are completed
- Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and all health & safety requirements
- Procuring and onboarding new subcontractors when needed
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within domestic insurance surveying and contract management
- Proven ability to manage multiple live claims, trades, and schedules concurrently
- Strong understanding of insurer pricing models and commercial margins
- Confident using systems such as Symbility, Synergy, and Excel-based scheduling tools
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong customer service focus and the ability to manage sensitive or high-pressure situations
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Sound knowledge of general building technology and construction processes
