Job Title: Insurance Subsidence / Building Surveyor

Using our own employed trades and approved specialist contractors, Westone carries out property reinstatement and rebuild services in the insurance, public, and commercial sectors. This includes conversions, extensions, rebuilds, and improvements in residential and commercial properties.

Job Purpose:

• Provide professional subsidence and surveying services related to domestic and commercial insurance claims.
• Visit damaged properties, assess technical and insurance aspects, and support in reinstating buildings.
• Travel and flexible working are required.
• Follow company procedures, promote customer fairness.
• Communicate with clients, authorities, and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records in the company's IT system.
• Manage a regional portfolio of work and support other areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Training will be provided, covering:

• Identifying damage causes, repair needs, and scheduling repairs.
• Handling subsidence and other insurance claims.
• Implementing emergency works.
• Building pathology including asbestos and damp issues.
• Understanding insurance policies and law.
• Writing reports and correspondence.
• Planning investigations and interpreting reports.
• Understanding building construction.
• Managing tenders and assessments.
• Knowledge of planning, building regulations, health & safety, and contracts.
• Project management and cost control.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
