Broker Advisor – Markel (Manchester)

Are you great at dealing with customers over the telephone? Are you able to follow up leads and turn these into sales? Join Markel, a recognised leading global insurance company, as a Broker Advisor for our new NMUK Direct division. This role is based in our Manchester office and you will help provide an outstanding new business service to our customers across the UK.

Working Hours

Monday – Friday only, with shifts between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Contact customers who have received quotes but have not yet made a purchase, follow‑up on online quote referrals, reconnect with former customers, and renew policies with the aim of generating new business.
  • Provide insurance options from various providers and promote additional products from different insurers.
  • Handle incoming calls from both new and existing clients.
  • Quote, bind, renew and process policy payments.
  • Address customer inquiries through phone, live chat and email.
  • Pursue outstanding renewals and complete underwriting questions required by insurers.
  • Handle mid‑term adjustments and send renewal invitations.
  • Perform administrative duties to satisfy customer needs.
  • Coordinate with different insurance companies to secure policies for clients.
Qualifications
  • Experience in insurance or financial services.
  • Proven ability to meet sales or retention targets within a telephony environment.
  • Exceptional sales skills and strong aptitude for identifying cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy and literacy capabilities.
  • Understanding of conduct risk and non‑advised status.
  • Ability to assimilate information and recall benefits and add‑ons offered by various insurers.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in liaising with external stakeholders effectively.
