Job summary

Placements24 in Randburg is seeking motivated individuals for an Apprentice Instrumentation Technician role focused on installation, calibration, and repair of measuring instruments used in industrial processes. You will learn to work with sensors, transmitters, controllers, and valves to ensure accuracy and safe operation.

The program blends hands-on training with mentorship from seasoned technicians and a clear path toward becoming a qualified artisan.

Qualifications

• Strong aptitude for electronics, mechanics and technology.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
• Learn to calibrate and maintain process instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests on instrumentation hardware and software.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing faulty instrumentation equipment.
• Read and interpret instrumentation diagrams, loop sheets, and P&IDs.
• Follow strict safety protocols, especially around live equipment or hazardous areas.
