Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer for on-site duties at Bridgwater, supporting the Hinkley Point C project. You will join the Joint Design Office Instrumentation and Control team to focus on Siemens SPPA-T2000-based modifications, testing, and validation across plant systems.

You will assess design changes, support commissioning, and work with colleagues across engineering, commissioning and project delivery functions to ensure plant readiness and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with complex I&C systems in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of Siemens SPPA-T2000 technology.
• Strong understanding of process signals, logic processing and alarm management.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site modifications to the Siemens SPPA-T2000 Standard I&C platform.
• Assess how proposed changes affect hardware, software and plant operation.
• Produce and update I&C programming for AS620 Tec4, OM690, ALS and MOP applications.
• Carry out verification and validation activities.
• Support functional testing and investigation of issues identified during testing.
• Update engineering records, diagrams and technical documentation.
• Work closely with commissioning, electrical and system engineering teams.
• Support Siemens specialists during detailed design activities.
• Help maintain accurate configuration and design control.
• Highlight risks, opportunities and delivery challenges to support project success.

What You’ll Be Doing

Who You Are

• You’ll bring: A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• Experience working with complex I&C systems in an industrial environment
• Knowledge and practical experience of Siemens SPPA-T2000 technology
• A solid understanding of process signals, logic processing and alarm management
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to build effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
• A proactive approach, with the confidence to ask questions and challenge where needed
• A commitment to quality, safety and technical rigour
• It would be great if you also have: Experience within nuclear, power generation or process plant environments Knowledge of EPR technology or EPR I&C systems Experience supporting commissioning, operations or maintenance activities on large industrial facilities
