A leading engineering firm based in Ellesmere Port is looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrument Technician for a minimum six-month contract. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates should have industrial maintenance experience, CompEx training, and hold an 18th Edition certification.

Qualifications

  • Proven industrial maintenance experience is essential.
  • Experience in a COMAH environment is required.
  • E&I Technician certification, preferably with electrical bias.

Salary: £35.00ph (Umbrella/PAYE)

Hours: 7.30am-4.00pm Monday-Friday

Contract: 6 month minimum contract with scope to extend

Site Based/Office/Remote: Site

Job Overview

We are seeking an Electrical & Instrument Technician for a minimum of 6 months work at a chemical site in Ellesmere Port to respond to planned and reactive maintenance of equipment.

You will be required to:

  • Support the Manufacturing group with a high level of expertise to maintain assets safely and contribute to production targets to being met. To undertake all routines necessary to maintain the asset reliability and to ensure conformance with all statutory, mandatory and regulatory bodies.
  • Install repair and maintain power, lighting, communications and control systems.
  • Test, calibrate, install, repair and inspect monitoring and control devices.
  • Fault finding on equipment up to 415v.
  • Diagnose and trouble shoot process control software issues.
  • Test and calibrate spring loaded safety valves.
  • Test safety equipment and interlocks
  • Conform to appropriate 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations regarding installation of equipment.
  • Managing and working to current legislation with high hazard substances including asbestos and lead.
Requirements
  • Industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience working in a COMAH environment
  • A time-served E&I Technician (more likely to be Electrically biased).
  • CompEx 01-04 trained
  • 18th Edition.

Rates of Pay: This role is in-scope of IR35 so we can only offer Umbrella or PAYE pay models.
