Job summary

A precision engineering company in the UK is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join their production team. You will be responsible for assembling and testing high-quality electro-mechanical instruments, performing fault-finding and calibration, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will have proven assembly experience and be comfortable working with team and independently. A driving license is advantageous due to location constraints.

Overview

YT Technologies are on the lookout for a Instrument Technician for a production team focused on excellence in precision engineering and innovation. Our client are looking for someone to be comfortable with the assembly, testing, and final inspection of vacuum-based scientific instruments, working from detailed drawings and build kits. The role also includes fault-finding, repair, calibration, and occasional site visits once fully trained.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test electro-mechanical instruments to high quality standards
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding and calibration
  • Conduct final inspection and documentation
  • Support product repairs and occasional customer installations
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Key Criteria
  • Proven electro-mechanical assembly and test experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and circuit drawings
  • Skilled in using hand tools, test equipment, and measurement instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and in a small team
