An educational institution in Royal Leamington Spa is hiring an Instructor Technician to provide practical instruction to students, focusing on skill development and assessment. The role includes maintaining teaching resources and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety guidelines. Candidates must have relevant qualifications and strong communication skills. The schedule is currently Monday to Wednesday with some flexibility. A job share arrangement can be considered.
Pro rata salary £12,038.29 - £12,610.79 per annum. For any roles that start part way through the academic year, the annual salary will be pro rata to the remaining months.
Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, occupational health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within ‘Regulated Activity’ within a specific place (i.e. the College). This role is classed as working within Regulated Activity. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. By applying for this position, you agree to an enhanced DBS check in line with DBS regulations.
The appointed person will need to provide practical instruction at relevant industry standards. You will work closely with lecturing teaching staff and this will include providing practical support, instruction, training and supervision to students in practical subjects both on an individual and group basis. The person will also be responsible for the preparation of materials and maintenance of resources for practical tasks. We ensure that provision is learner focused, which leads to academic excellence, high quality learning and an outstanding student experience which reflects the commercial focused curriculum delivery model and contributes to the achievement of the College’s strategic and development plans.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.
