Job summary

Yunex Traffic is seeking an Installation Operative in Leicester. This entry‑level role suits those who enjoy hands-on work, problem solving and teamwork to install traffic signals, controllers and crossings across sites.

You will help with electrical tests, site checks and training, with a 37.5‑hour week, occasional out‑of‑hours work and a company vehicle provided. A driving licence and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification or relevant experience, training provided.
• Cooperative and proactive, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Ability to transition between tasks and work areas while acquiring new skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of traffic signals, controllers, pedestrian crossings and ancillary equipment.
• Manage and troubleshoot tasks across various sites daily.
• Conduct electrical tests and pre-commissioning checks.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and fellow contractors on site.
• Ensure all work meets specifications, with high standards and deadlines.
• Participate in mandatory product and industry accreditation training.
• Flexibility for out-of-hours work to meet service and contract demands.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols, prioritising hazard identification and mitigation.
