Job summary

Tyler Mason Consultants in London/Home Counties is seeking an Installation Fire Alarm Engineer to install, test and commission fire alarm systems on site to BS 5839-1 standards, with a focus on 1st and 2nd fix.

You will cover schools, hospitals and commercial developments, travel as needed, provide first‑class customer service, and work closely with the coordinator and sales team; a company van, pension and flexible hours are on offer.

Qualifications

• Site work experience is required.
• Understanding of fire alarm systems per BS 5839-1 is desirable.
• UK driving licence and on-call flexibility are required.

Responsibilities

• Installations, 1st and 2nd Fix on site.
• Commission alarms and perform tests.
• Provide first time fix solutions when issues arise.

Installation Fire Alarm Engineer

London/Home Counties

£40K- £45K DOE

Installations only on SIte - No maintenance

The role

Currently seeking an Installation Fire Alarm Engineer. working for a Fire and Security Company. Must be able to 1st and 2nd fix, program and commission to a standard to test a system

Main duties will include:

• Installations, 1st and 2nd Fix
• Investigations providing first time fix solutions
• Commission Alarms, if experienced
• SITES COVERED: schools, hospitals, new build development/refurbishment (flats, office etc), shop fit outs, private residents etc
• Delivering a first-class customer service to all customers
• Excellent teaming working ethics, working closely with your designated coordinator and the sales team.
• The role may also include other office duties as deemed acceptable by your line manager.

Experience:

• Must have Site work Experience
• Fire Alarm Fundamentals FD&FA BS 5839-1 SCQF/RQF Level 3 certified, desirable, with a good understanding of British standards for design, installation, Program and commission
• Technical background in the electrical / electronic industry
• A full UK Driving Licence subject to 6 monthly checks – mandatory
• Flexible to travel and on-call rota
• Enhanced DBS Check and security screening to BS 7858
