Installation & Commissioning Engineer

Full‑Time | Permanent | International Travel

Industry: Food Production Equipment

Location: UK‑based

Travel: Around 75% of time spent overseas (trips from 3 days up to 4 weeks)

Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 base (OTE £65,000 – £80,000 with overtime while travelling)

This is an exciting and varied position that combines hands‑on technical work with global travel, offering the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge automated systems across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission new production machinery and automated systems at customer sites
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical setup, calibration, and performance testing
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning phases
  • Prepare and complete detailed site and commissioning reports
  • Collaborate with international project teams
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and uphold the company’s reputation for service excellence
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Installation and Commissioning Engineer with food production equipment
  • Strong electrical and PLC knowledge — fault finding, wiring, and testing
  • Solid understanding of mechanical assembly and automation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ, ONC, HNC, or equivalent)
  • Confident working both independently and within multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods
