Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge in Spanish.
• Experience teaching Spanish within a secondary school environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons across the relevant key stages.
• Develop pupils' confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing Spanish.
• Create a positive classroom environment where pupils participate and communicate confidently.
• Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning styles.
• Set high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Assess pupils' work and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Monitor pupil progress and use assessments to inform future planning.
• Prepare pupils for internal and external examinations where appropriate.
• Support curriculum development within the Modern Foreign Languages department.
• Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and wider school initiatives.
• Encourage pupils to appreciate Spanish-speaking cultures and communities.
• Use digital resources and teaching technologies to enhance learning.
• Maintain accurate records of attainment and progress.
• Communicate with colleagues, parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
