Job summary

Woodgate Primary School in Birmingham is seeking a head teacher to lead the school on its next journey, following the retirement of the current head teacher in April 2027. The successful candidate will be an experienced headteacher or deputy with primary breadth (including EYFS) and a clear vision for high-quality education.

You will prioritise safeguarding, inclusive practice, and strong stakeholder communication, with a track record of developing staff wellbeing and professional development

Qualifications

• Experience as headteacher or deputy head in primary
• Experience with EYFS in primary settings
• Clear vision for high-quality primary education
• Commitment to safeguarding with DSL/DDSL experience
• Strong teaching practice and ability to model effective teaching
• Strong inclusive practice and effectiveness with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead the school and drive continued improvement in outcomes
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils
• Collaborate with governors, staff and the wider school community
• Engage with parents and the local community to foster a positive school ethos
